Program Success Stories

This is our commitment, and it begins with the mothers who participate in our Program. We created this program to help mothers quit smoking and to encourage the continuation of this very important decision so that mothers and their babies benefit from a healthy, smoke-free lifestyle.

Through all of our work and the much appreciated support of our Partners and Providers, nothing is more rewarding than the feedback that we receive from the mothers who have “graduated” from the BABY & ME — Tobacco Free Program™. These women are enjoying happier, healthier, and more financially rewarding lives…all because they quit smoking.

We appreciate every letter, email, and phone call that we receive, and we’re happy to include some of their stories.

ashlyn-flora-revised“Quitting smoking has not only helped my mental stability because I no longer rely on cigarettes to fix problems, it’s also helped with my recovery from other drugs and staying sober. Now, I’m facing my problems instead. Without cigarettes, I no longer have the desire to use other substances.”

“We have been a smoking family for years.  Everyone in our family smokes.  This program has been helpful to have a support person because now our household is smoke free.  Neither of our babies will be around secondhand smoke at home, which is a huge step and a huge relief. The tips for quitting and the incentives made this program legit to us”

BMTF_Mom-&-Babies-(3)“Being able to see the carbon monoxide numbers gave me the motivation to quit.”

shelby-neff“The most difficult part of quitting was at first just seeing others smoke made me crave one. I still wanted one and I was so emotional from being pregnant that friends and family members quit smoking around me. Eventually I got my cravings under control and now seeing others smoke no longer tempts me.”

bab-gonzales-revsied“BABY & ME – Tobacco Free Program helped my cessation efforts by supporting me to stop smoking.”

I started smoking at the age of 14. With every pregnancy, I put the cigarettes down but would always pick them back up after I had my children. The BABY & ME — Tobacco Free Program™ gave me the incentive to lay the down and continue with it. It makes you aware of what it does to your health along with the health of your children. I feel healthier. My kids aren’t inhaling it (smoke) so that makes them healthier as well. I couldn’t feel better.
